I met Angela when I was visiting the Mark Twain House in Hartford on my book tour.
Shortly thereafter we were collaborating on an idiotic-but-fun, librarian-themed romance called Dewey To Me One More Time. It was just as bad as it sounds, but it was so much fun. Those of you who write will understand. You can't just turn off the projects that call to you. Even the dumb ones.
The main purpose of this blog is to provide encouragement, skills, ideas, and inspiration for writers.
Perhaps the most useful thing for you will be that Angela and I are very active writers. We are each always in the middle of at least two books. We write online, both on our blogs and on freelance assignments. And we have different specialties.
Nobody knows better than we do that a little encouragement can go a long way, and encouragement from other writers can do even more. We have both benefited from the generosity of other writers, and hope to do the same, both through our own writing here, but also by connecting other like-minded weirdos who can then serve as each other's support systems and sounding boards.

So what's with the name?
I can't remember exactly how the conversation started, but we were talking about writing a campy pulp series about a vigilante."What would his name be?" The best brainstorming sessions are 90% nonsense, and this was no exception. We eventually settled on a vigilante called The Night Wiener, who would appear in a book with lines like, "This was going to be big," he thought, taking the stairs two at a time.
Then, whenever it was time for either of us to do our writing, we'd each say, "It's time for the Night Wiener."
Not as elaborate a back story as Spider man. It's stupid but it stuck.
